You could be the Laboratory Support Technologist we are seeking to support the design and fabrication of test hardware in the Mechanical Shock Test Laboratory. In this position, you will have an active role in the maintenance and development of shock test capabilities to support a range of customers from across the laboratory. Breadth of activities will span from the design and fabrication of new test capabilities to the repair or improvement of existing test hardware. On any given day, you may be called on to: Lead in identification and implementation of technical laboratory hardware improvements Maintain performance of shock test equipment through the fabrication/repair of test hardware Assure representative shock environments for our customers through design and fabrication of high-quality test fixtures. Qualifications We Require Requires high school diploma plus three or more years of directly related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. At least 3 years' experience working with Computer Aided Design tools Working knowledge of fabrication practices and machinery The ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-clearance Qualifications We Desire Experience with laboratory test equipment as well as, mechanical shock test techniques and equipment, drop tables and pyro shock simulation techniques (resonant plates and beams) Experience with ES&H documentation processes and familiarity with updated Work Planning & Controls processes Experience with high consequence safety operations, explosive and radioactive related processes Prior experience with metal fabrication Active DOE Q clearance About Our Team The Structural Mechanics Department 1528 is part of the Engineering Sciences Center at **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***..
