We are seeking an Engineering Program/Project Lead to join the COTS Program Integration team and be responsible for engaging with a team of engineers, software engineers, and technicians to ensure our software tools meet reporting and planning requirements.
On any given day, you might be called on to:
Develop and lead R&D projects to develop new opportunities to support current and future work and customer needs.
Manage department and program resources and coordinating across Sandia to ensure timely, on-budget deliveries meeting programmatic objectives.
Negotiate deliverables with the program leads and management
Provide periodic status reports.
Develop novel concepts and articulate those concepts to customers and partners.
Requires bachelor's degree in relevant STEM discipline and 5 years proven experience; or master's degree in relevant STEM discipline and 1 year of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of project scheduling and related software (MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent)
Knowledge of engineering configuration management (CM) processes and tools (SharePoint, PDM Link, or equivalent)
Ability to acquire and maintain a DOE security clearance.
Experience with complex hardware integration and testing.
Demonstrated ability to negotiate competing requirements to give the best system-level outcome
Experience working with the Kansas City Plant in delivering War Reserve quality hardware.
Experience working as a team member, strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to prepare clearly-written technical reports and briefings.
Familiarity with the NW drawing system (IMS, EAWeb, etc).
Ability to work independently and in a team environment alongside a diverse workforce.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Desire to learn new skills as required and develop expertise in areas that may be unfamiliar.
Willingness to accept responsibility and take on more than one assignment at a time.
