Senior Consultant - Counterproliferation and Nuclear Security - State Dept.
Security Clearance Requirement:
This position requires at minimum an Interim Secret clearance
**MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. is seeking Senior Consultants with Counterproliferation and Nuclear Security experience to work in support of Department of State (DoS) nonproliferation programs. Analysts will provide support to DoS by assisting with the development of international partner security capacity to detect and respond to nuclear threats and reduce the risks of proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. This work is contingent upon contract award.
The Senior Consultant will serve as a Team Lead in support the State Department's work to address the development and use of weapons of mass destruction by terrorist groups. This position requires a strong understanding of Counterproliferation and Nuclear Security and experience supporting Counterproliferation principles, including acquisition, shipment and control of WMD-related technology, nuclear fuel cycle, nuclear and radiological weapons.
Availability to support significant travel (20% or more CONUS/OCONUS)
Education and experience requirements include:
US Citizenship required.
Current security clearance at a minimum Secret level is required (Interim Secret will be considered for professionals currently working in this area).
PhD education and 2 year of Counterproliferation and Nuclear Security experience, OR Master's degree and 4 years of Counterproliferation and Nuclear Security experience, OR Bachelor's degree and 6 years of Counterproliferation and Nuclear Security experience.
Program Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent program management credentials.
Experience supporting the State Department and strong understanding of its mission, its processes, and organization.
Experience with Department of State grants, cooperative agreements, or contracts.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Strong writing skills and demonstrated experience in analysis, research, strategy development, and interagency coordination.
Professional experience implementing international programs in a culturally sensitive manner.
Proficiency working across the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
Experience supporting exercises and workshops for international security, nonproliferation, counterterrorism, foreign affairs, and topics related to the development of WMD.
Availability to support significant travel (20% or more CONUS/OCONUS).
Preferred experience includes:
Knowledge of US Government regulations and policies for grants and contracts, government budget cycle, funding instruments (grants, fund cites) and significant professional experiences assisting clients with international programs on a scale of at least $70 million in annual funding.
Experience working in teams in activity planning and implementation for related focus areas including Chemical Security, Biosecurity, or Budget and Administration for nonproliferation programs.
Understanding of foreign assistance.
Experience working with international organizations.
Fluency in a foreign language.
