Job Details

Our client, a large government customer, are seeking a Requirements Manager to join their team. The role is based in High Wycombe for 2 days/fortnight and working from home for the remainder. Additional flexibility may be required to visit other UK sites. The role requires SC clearance (DV Clearance is desirable).

Requirements are scheduled to run until 30/06/2024 (140 days) and offer a rate up to £530/day. 

IR35 STATUS: Inside IR35. Our client has indicated that they intend to operate the engagement as Inside IR35. Candidates would be required to operate through an umbrella company on this engagement. The rates above represent rate payable to the umbrella co.

Main Responsibilities

  • Acting as the Project Manager and Deputy Project Director for the Project.
  • Ensuring that project-level risks are identified, assessed and managed, and escalated to programme level if necessary.
  • Ensuring that Air Programme Level 0 and Level 1 schedules (supported by the integral Programme Support Office PMO) contain accurate and up-to-date synchronised delivery plans, showing key activities, milestones and decision points.
  • Developing and maintaining close working relationships as required.
  • Delivering Concept Phase as part of the CADMID Cycle.
  • Producing key artifact documents.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Aircrew Experience (recommended minimum, circa one thousand hours)
  • Capability and Acquisition experience.
  • To have worked at SO2/OF3 level.
  • Able to work autonomously and with initiative.
  • Proficient in and exploitation of Information Technology.
  • Able to communicate effectively and influence using the written and spoken word.
  • SC (security clearance). 

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Requirements Manager/Project Manager experience.
  • Management of Risk experience.
  • Aviation experience (ideally, but not limited to Fast Jet/Combat Air).
  • Previous Project Management experience.
  • Previous HQ Air Cmd staff officer experience.
  • Developed Vetting.

Need to Know

Predominantly working from home. Likely requirement would be to report to High Wycombe up to 2 days per fortnight as required. Additional flexibility required for any other travel (expected to be minimal) such as station visits for information gathering purposes. There will be a daily morning meeting (virtual) to ensure the team is working effectively and coherently. The contract will run for (140 days) from Jan 24. Expect initially a 2-4 day induction at High Wycombe.

Candidate Eligibility

Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK, this role will not offer Visa sponsorship. Tier 2 – General visas cannot be accepted.
