The role
As a Head of Operational Resilience and Crisis Management you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Reporting to the Group Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Director, the focus of this role is about setting and leading the strategic direction for Operational Resilience and Crisis Management across Babcock
Day to day, you'll be required to coordinate with all aspects of the Group in order to develop robust resilience and crisis management systems and ensure all potential risks are identified and appropriate policies are in place;

  • Additionally, you'll be accountable for:
  • Lead the development the resilience and crisis management strategies for Babcock International Group to ensure that key risk areas are identified and managed in collaboration with the Sectors/DRC and functions.
  • Define and implement the operational resilience policy to ensure compliance with regulation and ensure we maintain the service our customers expect.
  • Lead the development and implementation of the Resilience framework, develop and maintain Business Resilience Standards, in line with industry best practice.
  • Develop a strategic approach to crisis management, which incorporates both business continuity and emergency response, to support response and recovery from any situation.
  • Build strategic relationships with internal and external customers and stakeholders on behalf of Babcock. Liaise with external agencies and internal departments to "horizon scan" and identify threats to resilience and crisis management.

This role is full time position 37 hours a week. The successful candidate can work compliantly from any Babcock site or location or fully remote.
There is an occasional requirement to travel across a range of Babcock sites.

Essential experience of the Head of Operational Resilience and Crisis Management (2 year FTC):
  • Proven experience of multi-discipline resilience activities (eg. Business Continuity, Disaster recovery, Incident management and Emergency Planning) and implementing related policies.
  • Demonstrable in-depth knowledge of resilience standards, legislation and good practice.
  • Knowledge and experience in a range of technologies/tools for Resilience and Crisis Management planning and execution.
  • Strong leadership skills with proven experience of team management.
  • A proven communicator with influential, persuasive and negotiation skills across all levels in the organisation.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships across the business, working closely with internal customers.
Qualifications for the Head of Operational Resilience and Crisis Management (2 year FTC):

  • The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role.
